Contraception Service
The NHS Contraception Service via Quadrant Pharmacy can offer you regular ongoing supplies of your oral contraception, as well as help with starting contraception for the first time or after returning to taking contraception after you have had a break. The NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service is free of charge.
How does the service work?
You will have a consultation with our pharmacist in our private consultation room. They will ask you relevant health-related questions to work out the best way to help you, and you may have your blood pressure checked and weight measured. Our pharmacists will offer advice and, where appropriate, make a supply of oral contraception.
Who can access the service?
The service is suitable for patients from when they have started their periods and up to age 49 for the combined oral contraception, and age 54 for the progesterone-only pill for contraception purposes. There are some eligibility criteria that the pharmacist will discuss with you during the consultation. On the few occasions the pharmacist is not able to supply the contraception, we will be able to support you in your choices of which health professional best suits your needs.
